Short Term Forecast
Just a quick update on the 2 systems for Thursday and Saturday. They still look pretty dry this far south in the Tahoe area. Sorry for the late post. Had an intruder in our yard today and had to deal with that this morning...
Two impressive looking storm systems moving through the northeast Pacific today.
They will bring a lot of rain and snow to the Pacific NW through the weekend, and snow to the Rockies. This far south amounts still look meager in total.
The best chance for showers looks to be the early morning hours Thursday. Snow levels could dip to around 7,500-8,000 feet at the cold front moves through with a weakening band of precipitation. We could see a dusting of snow on the mountain tops. We could also see gusty winds with ridgetop winds gusting to 50+ mph.
The main story will bee cooler air for the weekend with highs in the 50's at lake level and 40's on the mountains. The 2nd system moves through on Saturday and looks to have even less of a chance of bringing a few light showers. Then nicer weather for Sunday.
High pressure builds in next week with dry and warming weather. Highs into the 60's and maybe even a bit warmer later in the week.
No signs of any storms returning right now until at least the very end of the month.
I'll have more details in Thursday's post, as well as some insights on the upcoming season.
